What To Expect at Your First Orthodontist Visit
Your first visit is an opportunity to meet Dr. Heiner and our team, discuss your goals, and learn about treatment options that may be right for you. Your consultation is complimentary, and you can schedule directly with our office without a referral. Visit us at 1540 Oakdale Rd. in Modesto, at the corner of Oakdale Road and Briggsmore Avenue, and across the street from Carl’s Jr. and Wildfire.

Flexible Ways to Pay for Orthodontic Treatment
We want you to understand your financial options before treatment begins. Our practice offers interest-free in-house payment arrangements and outside financing through CareCredit, and our team can help with insurance claims and paperwork. We accept all insurance except Medi-Cal, although we are not in-network with insurance plans, and family and payment-in-full discounts may also be available.
Do I Need a Referral to See Dr. Heiner?
No. You do not need a referral from a dentist or another healthcare provider to schedule a consultation at Heiner Orthodontics. You can contact our Modesto office directly to get started or ask questions.
What To Do During an Orthodontic Emergency
If you have a broken bracket, poking wire, lost retainer, severe discomfort, or another concern with your orthodontic appliance, contact our team as soon as you can so we can help determine your next step. Some minor issues can be made more comfortable temporarily with orthodontic wax or other tools, but damaged appliances may need to be repaired in-office to keep treatment moving forward.

If a wire is irritating your mouth, orthodontic wax can help protect the area temporarily. For a broken bracket or a problem you cannot comfortably manage yourself, call our office so our team can determine whether a repair appointment is needed.
Contact Heiner Orthodontics as soon as you notice that your retainer is lost, damaged, or no longer fitting properly. Our team can advise you on the appropriate next step rather than waiting until your next scheduled visit.
Appointment schedules depend on your individual treatment plan. Many patients have routine orthodontic visits approximately every 6 to 10 weeks, and our team will let you know the schedule recommended for your care.
